I can’t recommend Ian highly enough. I booked a 3-week reactivity board and train with my working-line GSD, and the difference has been incredible.

Before working with Ian, I genuinely couldn’t walk my dog on my own. His reactions to people and other dogs were so difficult to manage that I had to take him out into the countryside just to minimise the chances of encountering anyone. Walks were stressful and felt like something I had to constantly plan around.

Ian completely understood the challenges that come with a working-line GSD and, importantly, took the time to understand my dog as an individual rather than treating his reactivity as a one-size-fits-all problem. Throughout the 3 weeks, he worked on his behaviour, confidence, focus and obedience, while also giving me the knowledge and tools to continue the work at home. He sent daily updates of how Otis was getting on which meant I could relax knowing he was in safe hands and seeing him improve day by day was incredible. He was also happy to answer any questions I had throughout regarding his training and how to be a better handler.

The progress has been amazing. I now feel much more confident handling my dog and, for the first time, feel like we can actually enjoy walks rather than constantly worrying about what might happen if we see a person or another dog.

Ian was professional, knowledgeable, patient and clearly genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. I’m incredibly grateful for the work he has put in and for giving me the confidence to handle my dog properly.

Sent our 11month old Doberman to IBK9 for 3 weeks and wow what a difference. Walks before we’re very stressful and anxiety inducing for our whole family. At 35kg the pulling was unexplainable and there was no recall and basically he wouldn’t pay attention while outside the house. The difference now is fantastic, no pulling, has great recall and listens. I was worried he couldn’t be trained but this has surpassed my expectations. My 16mths German shepherd had no recall, and had to greet every dog he saw, on a couple of occasions it could have been fatal, but with training from Ian, he is absolutely fantastic now and recall isn’t a problem anymore. Our dog walks are 100% stress free, can’t thank Ian enough and highly recommend.

Our German Shepherd stayed for 3 weeks training. Extremely dog reactive, lead pulling, generally a handful. We are amazed by the results. Ian sent us daily video updates and from week 2 training pointers and info as well. On collection we had a thorough handover approx 1 and a half hours to ensure I was confident in how to carry on the training at home. This has been life changing for us, we can now take our dog to places we would never have taken him before. We can contact Ian whenever needed for support for the rest of his life. We recently had our 10 month old Dalmatian complete a 3 week residential stay with Ian and we had a fantastic experience, really pleased with the results and service received throughout. I wish I went down this route years ago.

After spending thousands of pounds on different types of trainers for my two reactive and high prey drive girls; special harnesses, turning around every 3 steps, hiring private fields, managing every step of the walk, medication, endlessly scattering treats, waiting for the street to be clear before we can leave the house etc. I was close to breaking point feeling like I had failed my dogs because they didn’t get to be dogs anymore. We didn’t get to go to the field or the beach because of off lead dogs, and the fear of my girls starting a fight etc.

I was originally opposed to a firmer trainer such as Ian. My girls are my babies. They’re not pets, or performing monkeys, they’re family. They are my whole entire world. And the idea of someone I didn’t know being quite strict with them made me feel uneasy.

However, after chatting with a friend who has a very well trained dog, and seeing how much freedom and enjoyment his dog has now he’s trained, gave me the push I needed to pull my big girl pants up and go for it.

Tonight, we went to a local lake for the first time in over a year. This place was previously a ‘no-go’ zone for us due to the volume of off lead dogs. Tonight we confidently and calmly walked around. For the first time in a very long time I didn’t want our walk to end.

I actually feel quite emotional writing this. Our world had become so small, stressful and isolated. I have been pulled over, pulled into traffic, injured and humiliated by their behaviour. The girls will now be able to enjoy dog friendly days out and holidays and lots of adventurous walks. I used to hate leaving them at home when going somewhere dog friendly, and now I don’t have to. Our world isn’t small anymore.

The training was worth every penny, and the guilt I felt leaving them at ‘naughty girl school’ for two weeks has now disappeared.

Ian has been amazing. We dropped off Spud for the 3 week residential training course. He was a very reactive dog towards other dogs, noises, cats mostly everything other than humans, which made it extremely difficult for us to walk him or take him places. We received daily videos of his progress and I was excited to receive them. We collected Spud, and was given training on how to handle him and how to continue his progress. We are absolutely delighted with the results, it’s like having a different dog 🙂. We can’t thank Ian enough and would 💯 % recommend him.

Great transformation of our puppy, from an over excitable puppy who dominated walks and had recall at choice, to a dog who is great on/off leash, has a lovely temperament socially and is a joy again to be outdoors with. From seeing your videos online to now- We get commented a-lot about our puppies off leash behaviour. Keep up the great work!

We couldn’t be happier with the results! Our Doberman was extremely reactive and stressed, even during short walks. He was pulling constantly, reacting to everything around him, and honestly we couldn’t take him out comfortably even for 20 minutes.

After just one month of training, the difference is incredible. Walks are now calm and enjoyable, whether on a long leash or using the “heel” command — he walks nicely by our side with no stress.

The trainer was patient, professional, and really understood how to work with problematic and reactive dog. We’ve seen such a huge improvement not only in his behaviour, but also in his confidence and overall calmness.

Would definitely recommend to anyone struggling with a reactive or difficult dog!
