I rescued a young lurcher x saluki who was a lovely boy but who had only had basic training. He was very strong on the lead and had no recall. I love to walk in the countryside and just did not want a dog of mine to not be able to be off lead and be able to run and play. A couple of months in my friend recommended Ian, I knew we were in good hands from the first lesson. Ian is patient (especially with the owner) and very quiet and clear with the dog. My dog is now excellent on the lead and has brilliant recall. Thanks to Ian he can now be off lead completely, whether I am out in the country, on a beach or in a local park with lots of other dogs. I would highly recommend Ian and both myself and Chase are extremely grateful to him.

I took my German Shepherd to Ian due to his lack of recall and difficult behaviour on the lead. Since picking him up, he has been completely transformed into a well-behaved and obedient dog, it’s incredible to see the results. I couldn’t recommend Ian highly enough; he is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly very skilled. Our dog was happy and content when we collected him, which was great to see. The regular progress updates and videos were also excellent and very reassuring.

We have a one-and-a-half-year-old Cockapoo, Rio, who we sent to Ian for a three-week residential to tidy up his heeling and overall obedience. From start to finish, Ian was extremely professional, friendly, and clear in everything he did. He reassured us throughout the entire process and kept us updated daily with progress videos, which really put our minds at ease.

The videos showed Rio confidently demonstrating commands, and seeing how quickly he progressed with Ian’s support was genuinely amazing. We were shocked at how fast Rio picked everything up – a true credit to Ian’s training methods and patience.

On handover day, Ian took the time to answer all of our questions, even though he had made it clear during the stay that we could reach out to him at any point. He also went on a walk with us and Rio, demonstrating the correct way to heel and reinforcing everything that had been taught.

Ian is polite, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable, and we truly feel we chose the right trainer. We drove all the way from London to send Rio to him, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. We couldn’t recommend Ian highly enough

Was the best decision we ever made sending Peggy and Brian to IBK9. We were kept up to date all the way through. We did today what we never thought possible, a day at the beach followed by a coffee then into a pub for a pint. Wish we had done it sooner and can’t thank you enough Ian. Our once reactive dogs are now an absolute pleasure to walk.

Sending our dog Maverick to IBK9 was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We reached out to Ian because Maverick was struggling with resource guarding, and it had become a real source of stress for us. It has been some time since his training in May, but since he has come home we haven’t had a single incident. Not one!

One thing we really appreciated during Maverick’s stay was the regular updates and videos Ian sent us. Being able to see, first-hand, how Maverick was progressing was brilliant and gave us so much reassurance throughout the process.

It feels like we’ve finally got our life back — the peace of mind in our home is priceless. Maverick has come back a calmer, more confident dog, and the difference is incredible. We even welcomed a baby since then, and thanks to the work Ian put in with Mav, we’ve been able to enjoy this new chapter without worrying about Maverick’s behaviour.

We honestly can’t thank Ian enough. Our only regret is not taking the step sooner. If you’re on the fence about training with IBK9, take this as your sign — it was absolutely worth it.

Residential Dog Training – IBK9 Training couldn’t have performed better for us and our pup. We sent our 1 year old Labrador, Diego, to Ian at IBK9 for a 3 week residential training program to address his reactivity towards both people and dogs. We discovered IBK9 through social media, and it was immediately clear from the videos and transformations shared there that this was the right place for Diego. The range of dogs Ian works with and the incredible before and after results really stood out to us.

From day one, the communication was fantastic. We received daily video updates showing Diego’s progress, which was amazing to watch. It was clear he was improving every day and just as importantly, that he was happy and comfortable despite it being his first time away from home.

We could ask questions at any time and received feedback about his progress, including suggestions and adjustments to suit how he responded to certain training methods.

The results are incredible. Diego is now responsive to our commands, in tune with us, and able to enjoy off lead walks which is something we never thought was possible before his training. We can now take him anywhere without worrying about other dogs or people.

Even after we brought him home, Ian followed up to check how things were going and offered continued support, which we really appreciated.

It’s also worth mentioning that Diego has a strict diet and requires supplements multiple times a day due to a previous illness and it was clear when we picked Diego up that all his dietary needs had been met perfectly which was really important to us.

We couldn’t be happier with the experience and the results. If you’re considering any kind of dog training, we would 100% recommend IBK9.

Walking our dogs is now a joy when previously they were difficult to control and chased any bird they saw. Now they walk obediently at heel and bird chasing is “off the menu”.

I was having trouble with reactivity with my two Rotti’s. They are brother and sister and are two years old. Walks were not enjoyable at all and got so bad I didn’t want to take them out. I enquired with IBK9 about there issues and if they could help. My boy has been for three weeks and we have had our first walk on our own. My God what a difference, we went for an hour and covered nearly three miles. Not one pull on the lead the whole walk. I even let him off the lead and I would never of dreamed of doing that three weeks ago.

Conclusion is. It’s not cheap but definitely worth it. If you add up all the different items you purchase and the rent for private fields you’re actually going to save money in the long run. That’s without the stress relief that you can’t put a price on. He is so much more relaxed and confident. Now it’s the girls turn. PS I wish I had sent them earlier
